The T.H.U.M.B 4 Step Program
1. Invite the THUMB show to your school
A simple first step. Just book the hilarious T.H.U.M.B show to visit your school. The show is actually two shows:
The T.H.U.M.B show for years 4-7
The Little Thumbledoo show for years P-3.
Why? Because unlike other school shows that believe one size fits all, we believe that in trying to be all things to all people you run the risk of being nothing.
The 8-12 year age group is ready to receive the message that kids can make a difference and act upon it.
The P-3 year age group obviously are far from ready for this concept. They are however ready for a gentler introduction to some important values that will benefit them in the immediate term and prepare them for the T.H.U.M.B shows when they are older.
The P-3 show themes are Anti Bullying, Resilience, Teamwork, Reading. These are knee slappingly funny magic shows.
Would it have been easier for us to make one P-7 show? You betcha! But the T.H.U.M.B philosophy puts making a difference above making a profit.
So we say goodbye to the little ones here but they are well looked after by the
Little Thumbledoo Shows for P-3
2. Students Decide on a Project
Remember the rest of the T.H.U.M.B program from here on applies to years 4-7 only.
Buoyed with a new measure of their own potential, and the idea that they CAN make a difference seeded in their now fertile minds the students return to the classroom. With the help of teacher resources provided by T.H.U.M.B, they come up with ideas for a project where they think they could collectively make a difference.
But words are cheap. We are measured by what we do, not what we say.
3. T.H.U.M.B Gives Your School Funding
T.H.U.M.B goes by the adage; I hear I forget, I see I remember,
I do and I understand. We have to get the project off the whiteboard and out of the classroom.
To do this, the T.H.U.M.B program funds your school with 'project ignition' money to kick start the projects the students come up with.
We give 20% of the cost of the show directly back to the school.
No sliding scales
No cut offs or fine print
A straight 20% back to the school

The school's guidance will of course be needed, but the responsibility of selecting
a project
and administering the money lies with the students.
This is all about re empowering kids with RESPONSIBILITY. Ideally, but not necessarily, it is a student led project.
The student councillors have already been earmarked as having some desirable qualities. Though this scheme encourages all students to participate this is an excellent opportunity for a child with that little bit extra to run with an idea and
show us what they are capable of.
Along the way WE get to give back to kids the one thing our over protective, over litigious society is intent on keeping from them, that life enriching sensation called Responsibility.
That being said there may well be a teacher who has an idea and the drive to see a project through. Schools need not engage in a project to receive the project ignition money. Just by booking and hosting the show schools automatically receive their 20% rebate to do what they will with.
However to encourage schools to engage the THUMB ideals and start a project there is the THUMB Award.
4. Big or Small, Any School Could Win the $5000 Award
The T.H.U.M.B show alone is invaluable for your students. Add to that the benefits of engaging in an authentic learning project and you have already exceeded what any other school show can offer. But that's not enough for us. We want to encourage you to keep going and build on what your school has accomplished.
To recognise your efforts and to motivate you further there is the yearly T.H.U.M.B award.
Entry into the award is free. Go to the Award page on this website and complete the simple entry form.
Innovative and lateral thinking will be key criteria. All schools, big and small, have equal chance.
The winning school will win $5000 prize money.
There are no strings attached to this money. Your school is free to spend it as they wish.
This is a great opportunity.
The students get a hilarious show and buckets full of moral fibre.
The school gets money, teaching opportunities and a crack at $5000.
Decide for yourself. Invite the T.H.U.M.B. show into your school (we know you'll love it). If for any reason it's not what you expected we'll refund the entire cost of the show. No questions asked. That's our guarantee to you.
A Holistic Approach to Strengthening the Character of Australian Kids
A single visit to your school by the T.H.U.M.B program will benefit your students enormously. However this program has been designed around the T.H.U.M.B program building an ongoing relationship with the school over four years and it is here that the greatest benefit will be realised.
Please be very clear that there is no commitment on your schools part. You do not commit for 4 years. You only book and pay for one show at a time. We are, however, very sure you will want our new found relationship to continue.
