THUMB Program FAQ

How long do the shows run?

The 4-7 show is 45 mins long and the P-3 anti bully show runs for 40 mins. Both shows are ideally presented on the same day. Ideally these two shows would be performed back to back. We understand the scheduling difficulties that schools face. Where possible we will be flexible with times. The shows can run in either order. You choose which age group is first up. Audience size for each show can be up to 400 students. If you are a big school and need to have 2 sessions per show this is not a problem.

What does our school need to provide?

Just an indoor or undercover area with a minimum of 4m wide x 3m deep performing area. The shows have self contained PA systems that run off batteries so no leads to trip over.

Will the students go back to the classrooms all hyped up?

No. The students start making good choices right at the end of the show, the first being to respect and help their teacher by silently returning to their rooms. Teachers love this bit.

There are some families who cannot afford to see the show. What can we do?

If the school is unable to address this situation please contact us. The messages contained in these shows and benefits from them are for everyone.

Do you want our students to energetically interact during the performance?

Yes. Our performers are experts at controlling large excited audiences. The routines are structured with high energy spots interspersed with quiet listening moments. General manners and respect are all that are necessary for a great show.

We are a small school. Will you visit us?

The THUMB Program will endeavour to reach all schools regardless of size. Please call and we'll see how we can make it work.

Is the THUMB program associated with any religious organization?

No. THUMB is 100% independent.

Can we video the show?

No. This is to protect an ENORMOUS amount of effort that has gone into making THUMB. The performer will have to interrupt the show to politely ask any video recording to stop. This is very disruptive to the core messages being delivered. Any time lost to addressing video recording has to be taken off the show content to keep the shows running at their allotted time. Thank you for your co operation.

Can we take photos?

Yes. Go crazy. We will advise you of any key moments in the show that make great school publicity photos. We are happy to do any set up shots after the performance. Just let us know so we can factor in some time.
